Originally from Broome in Western Australia, Amelia joined Baseline Tennis Coaching Academy in 2018. She coaches primary and early secondary school-aged kids at the Cairns International Tennis Centre.

Tennis Australia Community Coach Qualified and currently completing Tennis Australia’s Emerging Leaders program.

When did you start coaching tennis?

Coach Wayne-O asked me to help out with the younger kids back in 2020.

Who do you coach and where?

I coach primary and early secondary school-aged kids at CITC.

What do you love about coaching tennis?

I love seeing children grow their confidence and develop close friendships through the sport.

Favorite tennis memory?

My ultimate tennis memory is playing on a grass court near the ocean on Christmas Day with my family.

Favorite tennis player?

I love Coco Gauff, but Ash Barty will always be my all-time favorite tennis player despite her retiring.

Favourite tennis brand of racquets and shoes?

Yonex for racquets and Nike for shoes.

Fun Fact about you...

Before joining my local tennis club, I was swimming in a squad with the dream of becoming an Olympian swimmer. Tennis quickly became my favorite sport while swimming turned into a hobby.
