Coaching Qualifications

Tennis Australia Junior Development Coaching.

When did you start coaching tennis?

I started coaching in Tully when I was in Year 6, primarily assisting my dad. From that moment on, I developed a passion for coaching and loved watching children thrive in a game I’ve cherished since I was a little girl.

Who do you coach and where?

I coach junior players of all levels, from complete beginners to more experienced athletes at Cairns International Tennis Centre and Freshwater Tennis Club.

What do you love about coaching tennis?

My favorite part of tennis coaching is watching children improve and fall in love with the sport. It’s a proud moment to see how much the children you coach have grown, not just as players but as young people.

Favorite tennis memory?

One of my favorite tennis memories is playing at the Brisbane Internationals when I was younger, competing throughout the day and watching incredible matches at night.

Favorite tennis player?

I have a deep respect for Ash Barty, not just because she’s Australian but for her efforts to inspire young girls to take up tennis. Her movement on the court and that crisp slice shot are inspiring.

Favourite tennis brand of racquets and shoes?

I’ve always been drawn to Head for racquets because I love their style and performance. For shoes, New Balance and Adidas are my go-to brands.

Fun Fact about you...

Growing up, I played a variety of sports, including softball, netball, hockey, dancing, touch football and tennis. Competing in multiple sports fueled my competitive spirit, especially growing up with two competitive boys — my brother and dad!
